
Bluff Oyster & Food Festival, including Queenstown, Franz Josef & TranzAlpine Train

Come join Girls on the Road Again as we head to Queenstown for two nights, enjoy the gastronomic delights of the Bluff Oyster & Food Festival, a train journey aboard the TranzAlpine train to Christchurch and a n early morning visit to Lake Matheson. On this tour “blokes are welcome” so girls, bring your man if you’d like.
19 May Arrive Christchurch – arrival airport transfer included along with dinner tonight.
20 May Depart Christchurch on the TranzAlpine Express, with lunch and a vino or two included. Along this journey you’ll see epic vistas, travel the edges of the ice-fed Waimakariri River, traverse the Southern Alps, and see miles of native beech forest. The TranzAlpine is one of the world’s great train journeys covering 223 kilometres (139 miles) one-way, taking just under 5 hours. You’ll traverse the mighty Southern Alps and majestic Canterbury Plains – this is a journey of a lifetime. From the open air viewing platform, this train journey is a photographer’s dream (dress very warmly). Our bags will be on the bus driving across to meet us in Greymouth. We will be met by our driver Gary drive from Greymouth to Fox Glacier
Overnight Fox Glacier – visit to Lake Matheson for breakfast
21 May Head to Queenstown – dinner tonight at our hotel
21/23 May Accommodation in Riverview rooms Nugget Point including breakfast
22 May Off to Bluff to enjoy the day at the Food and Oyster Festival (all manner of seafood is available at this festival not just oysters !!). Bring some cash along to enjoy the food and wines (entry ticket included). 5pm we depart Bluff for Queenstown with dinner on arrival
23 May Lunch at Amisfeld Arrowtown en route to our overnight at Franz Josef
23/24 May Rainforest Retreat including dinner
24 May Today we head back to Christchurch and enjoy seeing the scenery via road with dinner at our hotel.
24/25 May Accommodation, the George Hotel
25 May After breakfast we can have a look around the city and lunch at the Riverside Markets with afternoon flights home.

All attendees received an A5 photo journal, an invaluable notebook to make notes of camera settings.
What do I need to bring?
An equipment list will be provided, but you’ll need your smart phone or camera and lenses such as 18-55 and 55-250, tripod and ND or CPL filters.
