On this tour “blokes are welcome” so girls, bring your man if you’d like.
Friday 21st: meet at Queenstown where we stay for two nights at beautiful Nugget Point, a luxury and boutique hotel. Our first day in Queenstown we will be either heading to Cecil Peak Station or taking a ride on the gondola which will provide some awesome photographic opportunities for the landscape enthusiasts.
Saturday 22nd: for the foodies, we head to the Bluff Oyster & Seafood Festival
Sunday 23rd: after breakfast we head off to Frans Josef where we stay at the exclusive Rainforest Retreat Deluxe – not only is the accommodation exquisite, but there is amazing landscape photographic opportunities of snow capped mountains and surrounding bush.
Either today or tomorrow, all depending on weather we take a helicopter flight and land on Franz Josef glacier where we will enjoy a glass of bubbles and chocolates. We visit Punakaiki where you have the opportunity to take a self-guided walk around and explore this spectacularly scenic area.
Monday 24t: to end this amazing weekend, in the afternoon we board the TranzAlpine train at Greymouth and travel to Christchurch. Along this journey you’ll see epic vistas, travel the edges of the ice-fed Waimakariri River, traverse the Southern Alps, and see miles of native beech forest. The TranzAlpine is one of the world’s great train journeys covering 223 kilometres (139 miles) one-way, taking just under 5 hours. You’ll traverse the mighty Southern Alps and majestic Canterbury Plains – this is a journey of a lifetime
From the open air viewing platform, this train journey is a photographer’s dream (dress very warmly).
In Christchurch, over dinner tonight we share our experiences and toast our newly made #foodiephotography buddies.
Tuesday 25th: after breakfast we farewell our fellow “foodie & photography” buddies and head home.
